Passing a Driving Test in the UK

Young people in England find it so hard these days to pass a driving test or at least my son did. He failed
three driving tests over the last two years since he has been learning to drive. Do you know anyone who has been trying to pass their driving test?

When my son was 18 years old, he started to learn to drive and when he was 20 he passed his theory test. After that he booked a driving test, but failed the first, second and third test, but he was still determined that he should pass.

So, we suggested that he buy a car to learn to drive in. He bought a seven year old car, which is a Renault Clio and started to drive it everywhere with someone sitting next to him (either myself or his Dad). This gave him so much more confidence. During his driving tests, his confidence was always so low and he would be terribly nervous.

He booked his fourth driving test, which was on Friday 25th April and he has now passed it. We were so relieved too and very happy for him. He is now 21 years old and he can now drive his own car without someone sitting next to him.

Do you know anyone learning to drive at present? How long did it take them to pass their test?

Have You Ever Had Knee Arthroscopy Surgery?

Have you ever had Arthroscopy surgery of the knee before? I have just had this done. The reason why I had this done was because I fell over two years ago and damaged the cartilage inside my knee along with the ligaments in my left leg.

I had to have Arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) on my left knee, which took place last Saturday and it has left me in a bit of pain, so I haven't been here that much lately.

Arthroscopy is a type of keyhole surgery where they make two incisions in the knee under general anaesthetic (being put to sleep). I had to stay in hospital for one night just because my blood pressure was very low after the surgery and I found that I couldn't wake up very well after having the anaesthetic.

The hospital gave me some instructions to do physiotherapy exercises, which I do 5 times per day. This is to prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis occurring in my leg, where the leg can swell up and give you a blood clot. At present, I am in a little pain, but I have been managing to walk about with some crutches along with taking medication for pain relief, but it is a bit of a harsh thing to go through no matter what anyone else tells you.
Apparently, during the Arthroscopy surgery, I was able to get my damaged cartilage cleaned up inside my knee and they looked inside with a camera to see if there was anything else going on in there, such as, checking for arthritis. I will know more about this when I attend my next follow up appointment.
For now, I am trying to cope and be as active as I can here. I am trying to do the best that I can at present and will try to write bubbles here on and off this week.
Has anyone else ever had Arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) of the knee before? If so, how did you find it? Did you suffer a lot afterwards? I would like to hear from anyone who has had this done too.
Learn more about Arthroscopy surgery by listening to this Youtube video:

Premeiere Cinema is the New Cheapest Movie Multiplex Cinema in Romford UK - News - Bubblews

Have you wanted to go and see a movie frequently, but you can't because prices are always so expensive?

Well, near where I live there is a cinema called Premiere Cinemas
that the UK's cheapest cinema complex.

They are a cinema complex called Premiere Cinema based in Romford, Essex in the UK. If you live in the UK you might have heard of them.

Premiere Cinemas charge just £4 per person to see a movie during the week and weekends. It is the cheapest cinema complex around. I have been here a number of times to see new movies that have just come out. This is why I write so many movie reviews, because I can afford to pay £4 to see a new movie.

Premiere Cinema was opened on July 13th 2012 by Carter Hayes. He opened the cinema complex on the former premises of the old Odeon cinema. Tickets are only £4 per person and the reason for this was to make the Premiere the cheapest multiplex in the UK.

Carter Hayes lives in Romford, Essex. It was his ambition to open a cinema multiplex, so when he heard that the Odeon in Romford was closing down, he knew he could use the premises to start his venture with Premiere Cinema.
Premiere Cinema is looking to expand to other areas in the UK now. Hayes is looking to open up in locations, such as, Cardiff and Salford next. I hope he opens up more of his cinemas in many other locations, so that others can benefit from it.
I heard about Premiere Cinemas from friends. Everyone was talking about it and how it was so cheap to see a new movie that had just come out. You can even buy popcorn at prices from just £2. The cinema screens are slightly smaller than other cinemas around, such as, Vue cinemas, but to me it isn't that much smaller.
Premiere Cinemas is situated inside the Mercury Mall in Romford on the top floor. There is parking at the Mercury Mall, which costs £1.80 for 3 hours during week days and Saturdays at £2.20 up to 3 hours. Parking is free all day on Sundays.
So, if you live nearby Romford in Essex, then visit Premiere Cinemas to see a movie, because it will be the cheapest night out you have ever had in regards to seeing a new released movie.

Lunch Time Deals at Pizza Hut in the UK

Have you been to Pizza Hut lately? I went there for lunch yesterday, because it was my brother's birthday and we all wanted to eat out somewhere. So, we decided to go there for lunch.

Photo credit: Denise Larkin (Lakeside Shopping mall, Essex UK)

They are now doing some great deals during the week at Pizza Hut in the UK. We went to the Pizza Hut in Lakeside Retail Park in Thurrock, Essex.

At Pizza Hut, we chose our food from the all you can eat unlimited buffet selection for £6.99 per adult and £3.99 per child. They do this deal during the week from Monday to Friday between the times of 1 to 3 pm. I thought it was a bargain too.

The unlimited buffet bar offers a selection of salads, pasta, tacos with sauces, garlic bread and a choice of pizzas. The food was good and hot too. So, if you like going to Pizza Hut, then it's a good idea to go to any Pizza Hut throughout the UK on a weekday. There were other special offers that day too. The deal we had was for half price chicken wings, which were priced at £1.95 for eight pieces. There was four of us, so we ordered two portions.

For drinks, you can order any soft drink like diet Pepsi, tango, orange squash, lemonade or Pepsi max and get refills for free.

I thought it was the ideal place to eat for lunch. I know that they do other deals, but I haven't tried those ones yet. Perhaps, we will go there again soon.

So, do you fancy eating at Pizza Hut?

My Unique Egyptian Bracelet

Photo credit: Denise Larkin (my Egyptian bracelet)

This is my Egyptian bracelet.  It was given to me by my grandmother many years ago, so I looked after it and kept safely tucked away in a box.

She gave it to me when I was around 14 years old. At first, I didn't know what to make of it as it wasn't something I wanted to wear, but in time I realised it should be something that I should treasure. I have treasured it ever since, but now I am wondering about it. I think it might be very old and ancient, but I am not exactly sure. Take a look at the pictures and tell me what you think of it.

Do you think it's valuable or ancient?

It could also be a mystical charm bracelet, but I am just wondering about this fact.  There were magical bracelets in the past or so some may believe.  So, what do you think?  Do you believe in mystical bracelets?
